Food Waste
Food waste of any kind, both raw and cooked. It's bread, meat leftovers, vegetable peels et cetera.
What Is Food Waste?
Food, both raw and prepared.
- Bread and cake leftovers
- Meat and fish waste
- Coffee grinds, tea leaves and filters
- Milk products
- Leftover fruit and vegetables - including peels
- Rice and pasta
- Shells from eggs, nuts and kernels
- Kitchen roll used in food preparation
- Oils and other fats
Food waste does not include garden waste!
Why Do I Have To?
Because local government has decided we should and because the country as a whole has to meet certain environmental goals. Furthermore it makes sense. We use your food waste to produce biogas instead of just wasting energy on burning it. It also means that through the waste product bio pulp, we return the phosphor to the soil, which is vital for food production.
Don't Worry - It's Quite Simple Once You Get started!
It may all seem a bit complicated, but it really isn't. We know this from the people, who have already started sorting their waste into the four fractions.
