Guaranteed Childcare Provision

As a consequence of the guaranteed childcare provision, the municipality is legally obliged to allocate places in an age-appropriate childcare facility to all children from the age of 26 weeks to school starting age.

If parents want a place immediately after their child is 26 weeks old, the municipality must offer a place within four weeks from this date. Your child must be registered for guaranteed childcare provision no later than three months before you need a place.

Guaranteed childcare provision means that your child will be guaranteed a place within the area covered by Randers Kommune. It does not guarantee a specific place or specific opening times. We will, however, do everything we can to consider your request for a specific childcare facility.

Please note: if your child is not registered on the general Randers Kommune waiting list, this means that you have effectively opted out of the Kommune's guaranteed childcare provision scheme.

When you have been offered a place, Randers Kommune's guaranteed childcare provision has been observed. If you decide not to accept the offer, we cannot guarantee a new place for at least three months. We always attempt, however, to offer you a place as quickly as possible. The waiting list is always arranged according to age, so your child will not have to move to the back of the queue.
