Moving to Randers

Moving from one city or Kommune to another brings with it its own set of challenges. We will try and offer some useful information below that needs to be considered when moving to Randers.

When you move into or within the Municipality of Randers, your move must be communicated to the National Registry within 5 days after the move.

You must report the move digitally.

Report the move here

Before you begin, be sure to:

  • Have your NemID or digital signature ready (if you don't have a NemID, you can find more information on how to get one here).
  • Know your moving date.
  • Find out whether you need to change doctors.

Move date

You can register a move, at the earliest, 90 days prior to the move and within 5 days after, at the latest.

Changing doctors

When moving, changing your doctor is free of charge. It's easy to change doctors at the same time that you report your move electronically to the municipality and National Registry. As a general rule, choose a doctor whose office is within 15 km of your residence. Read more about changing doctors here.

Remember to register your address change to Post Denmark, so you can receive mail at your new address.

Get more information about address change here.

Shared Occupancy

When you move to another person's address, the Population Registrar will send a Shared Occupancy - host statement to the primary occupant of the dwelling. The one that you have to live with (accommodation host ) must complete and return a Lodgings Host Statement before the transfer can go through. If you received a lodging host statement or a request for confirmation of the move, you can read more about this here.
